On Mar. 26, 2021, DongHwa Entec Co., Ltd. held “Love Rice Sharing”, a corporate social responsibility activity for neighbors in need of food, including National Basic Livelihood Act recipients, old people living alone, poor families and grandparents raising grandchildren, to promote heath diets and reduce financial burden.
Through “Love Rice Sharing”, the company donated 125 10kg-bags of rice, equivalent to 3,693,244 KRW, to Busan Briquette Bank for 125 households in need.
DongHwa Entec Co., Ltd. is fulfilling its corporate social responsibility each year through corporate philanthropic activities, including “Love Briquette Sharing,”“Love Rice Sharing”, “Dining Table Sharing”, “Love Side Dish Sharing”, “Love Blood Donation”, “Children Support Project” and “Scholarship Project”, in order to meet its ethical responsibility and social obligations to the local community and its interested parties through “Sharing Management”.
Most notably, our employees participate voluntarily in these activities as part of a corporate culture whereby they chip in a minimum sum from their salaries, less than 1,000 KRW, for donation to social causes.
A representative of DongHwa Entec announced the company’s plan to establish an in-house organization with a new mindset and actively drive volunteer activities to share warmth with our neighbors.
Marking the 40th anniversary of the company’s establishment in 2021, the representative expressed the company’s desire to contribute to the local community through various volunteer initiatives going forward.
Minister Jang Jeongchil of Busan Briquette Bank said that he was concerned about rapidly declining donations from companies due to difficulties caused by the COVID-19, and also expressed his gratitude for DongHwa Entec’s constant support.
He requested companies’ and organizations’ attention and cooperation in order to overcome these hard times, saying that many of our neighbors were experiencing greater hardship due to COVID-19.
Busan Briquette Bank is running various social philanthropic initiatives including: energy donation of briquettes, heating, gas, electric blankets and fans; operation of a youth center to support learning and provide school uniforms, cultural activities and scholarships; operation of a rice bank for donating rice to low income families; operation of a dining table community for providing hearty meals made with care for the elderly, and a local welfare campaign for sharing kimchi and donating daily necessities and refreshments.
