To celebrate Arbor Day, DongHwa Entec Co., Ltd. conducted a tree planting event at the Joint Workplace Bareun Daycare Center in the Noksan National Industrial Complex on Fri. Apr. 2.
The event was attended by DongHwa Entec Chairman Kim Kang-hee, KICC(Busan) senior personnel and Director Jeong So-ra of Bareun Daycare Center.
As part of their “Integrity Vow and Safety campaign, KICC(Busan) donated 500,000 KRW worth of trees and flowers for the event, as well as masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In late March, a further 500,000 KRW donation from Bareun Daycare Center was used to purchase 1 million KRW worth of trees and flowers that were planted in the front yard of Bareun Daycare Center by Donghwa Entec personnel.
A consortium of 10 companies located in the complex participated in the establishment of the Noksan Industrial Complex Bareun Daycare Center, a three-story building on a 982㎡ lot that was completed in Apr., 2016.
With maximum capacity of 99 children, the daycare center is currently catering to 95 children of employees of the aforementioned 10 companies, including DongHwa Entec, DongHwa Pneutech, Renault Samsung, Hanla IMS, Jeongsan International, Taewoong, SungKwangBend, Younsan Metal, TECHCROSS and PANASIA. As the representative company, DongHwa Entec Co., Ltd. holds the tree-planting event for the children each year along with Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, and also manages the quarterly operating committee meeting to discuss issues related to operation of the daycare center.
DongHwa Entec Chairman Kim Kang-hee said, “Environment is key for growing children.
Gardening and tree planting are great for children’s growth, in addition to their esthetic value, so we will continue to pay attention and cooperate in this area.”
A representative from KICC(Busan) said, “I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event, albeit a minor role, and we will strive for integrity management to become a corporation growing together with companies and related organizations in the future.”
Director Jeong So-ra of Bareun Daycare Center said, “I hope the childcare issues of company employees within the industrial complex will be resolved swiftly.
I will implement the customized childcare policy through a variety of childcare programs in the future.”
Given the current decreasing trend in the frequency of tree-planting events, participation and collaboration between companies and organizations, as well as government agencies, is required for the future of such events, in the spirit of Arbor Day.
We will strive to cultivate a clean and beautiful natural environment.
