Busan City hosted the 2021 KOMARINE over four days from Oct. 19 to 22 at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1, displaying the city’s high standing as the hub city of the global marine shipbuilding industry, as well as advanced high-tech equipment and new technologies of the domestic and foreign shipbuilding and offshore plant industries.
KOMARINE, jointly hosted with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea Marine Equipment Association and Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association, has been held every two years since 2001, with this being its 11th event.
Despite COVID-19, 700 companies from 30 countries installed 1,500 booths, including domestic companies Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Korea Gas Corporation, DongHwa Entec, DongHwa Pneutec, S&SYS, BIP, PANASIA and TECHCROSS, and overseas companies ABB, EMERSON, KONGSBERG, WARTSILA and WinGD.
Europe’s ten representative maritime powers, including the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, UK and Austria packed out a joint hall awash with the trends of the marine shipbuilding industry, including shipbuilding technology and equipment, and maritime equipment.
At 2021 KOMARINE, DongHwa Entec and DongHwa Pneutec participated together and installed booths (144sqm) to promote company products.
A product exhibition/promotion space for eco-friendly energy-based nature-friendly products was set up at the DongHwa Entec booth (3C19), while a customer consultation/meeting space was arranged at the DongHwa Pneutec booth on the opposite side.
DongHwa Entec Co., Ltd. has established DongHwa Group’s EIP(Exhibition Identity Program) for systematic and effective booth operation each year.
The two companies identify the latest gas-related information and trends, develop networks, explore product markets, secure potential customers, and identify customers’ status and new products and technology of other companies through the exhibition, pursuing stronger global marketing and diversified export routes.
During the exhibition, various conferences were held at BEXCO Convention Hall.
At three sessions of seminars including △Technical Seminar △Marine Equipment Industry Seminar △Marine Engineering, held upon the opening at 1:20 p.m. on the 19th,, new technologies developed by institutions, academia and research institutes and companies were introduced.
Moreover, the exhibition was a hybrid event held both online and offline.
The online exhibition hall provides information for each participating company while video meetings with buyers through a matchmaking system were conducted.
With “Contact-free online export consultation” held alongside the exhibition, Busan City supports overseas marketing activities of KOMARINE participating companies.
The KOMARINE online exhibition will continue until the end of this year on the KOMARINE website.
Director Sin Changho of Industry & Trade Bureau of Busan City stated, “I could see their will to overcome the recession as many companies participated in the exhibition despite the recession in the shipbuilding industry. The city will do its best to provide support in line with such efforts of companies, in order to overcome the recession and enhance Busan’s standing as the hub city of the global marine shipbuilding industry.”
