On Nov. 10, KOGAS-Tech(CEO Jo Yong-don) held an agreement signing ceremony on development of KOGAS-Tech type LNG Cold Chain System Module at its main office in Daejeon.

Present for the signing were representatives of DongHwa Entec, MSENG, BTS, Fluotech, Sekyung E&S, Gastron Eneridea, Kyungwon Machinery and Jeongwoo Industrial Machine.

Against the backdrop of the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth(national goal of reducing greenhouse gas by 35 percent from 2018 to 2030),implemented to contribute to carbon neutrality worldwide, multilateral discussions on methods of recovering LNG cold energy (previously shelved) have been ongoing.

With this in mind, KOGAS-Tech decided to drive development of KOGAS-Tech-type modules of the Cold Chain System, which saves electricity using LNG cold energy.

The corporation signed a development agreement for the KOGAS-Tech type LNG Cold Chain System Module with several small and medium-sized LNG equipment suppliers.

As a detailed development method, KOGAS-Tech, as a delegated agency, signed a contract on performance sharing with eight contracting companies, and agreed to share outcomes resulting from market development, to be initiated after successful module development through collaboration.

KOGAS-Tech has overall charge of interface design between contracting companies, technical support, product verification, equipment technology convergence, design and development for LNG Cold Chain System Module development.

KOGAS-Tech CEO Jo Yong-don stated in the business agreement ceremony, “Exploring new markets with initial market entry risk and barriers for small and medium-sized businesses is the social responsibility of public corporations, and I humbly request your support to fulfill the government’s carbon neutral policy and meet the demands of the times.”

DongHwa Entec CEO Kwon Yung-woo added, “Starting with LNG Cold Chain System Module development, we will actively drive the LNG cold energy business.

This will contribute to our nation’s eco-friendly policy by converting the national energy consumption structure to low-carbon and high efficiency, and allow us to take the lead in realizing carbon neutrality.”
