The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held the “Ceremony for Global Top Specialty Company Designation in Materials, Parts and Equipment” at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun on Jan. 10, 2022.

At the ceremony, the Ministry announced that the second 21 Global Top Specialty Companies in Materials, Parts and Equipment, including DongHwa Entec, had been selected to lead the global markets in key strategic technology fields. “Global Top Specialty Companies in Materials, Parts and Equipment” are selected for fostering as representative M/P/E companies equipped with global competitiveness from a pool of the highest caliber companies in Korea with future growth potential in the 100 M/P/E-related key strategic technology fields. 21 companies were selected additionally this year following the first selection of 22 companies last year. The Ministry aims to select a total of 100 companies up to 2024. The companies selected this year include one conglomerate, nine medium-sized companies and 11 SMEs; by sector: six semiconductor, two display, four machinery and metal, five electrical and electronics, two automobile and two basic chemicals companies.

DongHwa Entec, as a domestic medium-sized marine equipment company, was selected as Global Top Specialty M/P/E Company in the machinery and metal category. The company presented its vision of moving forward with its eco-friendly heat exchange system, the compact heat exchanger-based key technology, as Global No.1 & First Mover in the eco-friendly age that has been led by LNG, ammonia and hydrogen consecutively. The company was recognized as having high future growth potential. With DongHwa Entec’s technology already proven in shipbuilding and onshore plants and ready for the eco-friendly age, the company is expected to become a representative of global top specialty M/P/E companies. In particular, the strength of DongHwa Entec’s PCHE, among its range of compact heat exchangers, is its optimal performance achieved even in cryogenic, high pressure and high temperature environments. The company has successfully supplied its PCHE-Type LNG Vaporizer to the FGSS(Fuel Gas Supply System) of Eco-friendly LNG-powered ships. It has also recently won the H2 Mobility+Energy Show Award grand prize in the hydrogen refueling infrastructure category by supplying around 80 H2 Pre Coolers to domestic hydrogen filling stations in sync with their recent increase. DongHwa Entec’s H2 Pre Cooler is considered commensurate with the purpose of Global Top Specialty M/P/E Company selection in the sense that its domestic supply chain has been stabilized by localizing products for which Korea had previously been import-dependent. Furthermore, DongHwa Entec affiliate DongHwa Pneutec, a specialist compact gas compressor company, is also contributing to the stability of domestic key equipment supply chains in the eco-friendly age by localizing BOG compressors for eco-friendly LNG-powered ships. DongHwa Entec Group, having grown in name and status based on advanced technology, is expected to contribute to strengthening domestic industrial competiveness, as the First Mover in heat exchange systems for the eco-friendly age.

DongHwa Entec CEO Kim Donggeon recited the Global Top Specialty M/P/E Companies’ pledge, representing those selected.
