DongHwa Entec was granted an extension of its certification as “Certified Family-friendly Company”, until Nov. 30, 2025, based on a review and evaluation.
The Family friendliness Certification is a program run by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, based on Article 15 of the Act on promoting family friendly social environment creation ””, to evaluate and grant certification to exemplary companies a nd public organizations that provide childbirth & childcare support services and flexible working systems so as to create a family friendly workplace culture. Validation requires ten steps, including application submission, preliminary examination, documen t examination, supplementary documentation, and site evaluation. Selections are made after evaluating 15 statutory requirement items and 25 items required by the Small and Medium enterprises Basic Law.
DongHwa Entec has made efforts to allow both male and female workers to freely use childcare leave and build a stable home through its childcare leave system (childcare leave, working hour reduction during a child's rearing period, leave before and after childbirth, paternity leave, and pregnant women s work hours reduction, etc.) The company also provides support for employees to promote health and build rapport by operating a physical training center, table tennis rooms and clubs, sending gifts on anniversaries including national holidays and Parents Day, and designating the Day of Family Love and the Day of Leaving Early to give employees time for evening activities. Further, the company constantly supports employees to cultivate character and grow their competencies by subsidizing self development costs a nd providing educational support, including tuition fees. The company also endeavors to create a happy working environment by helping employees feel refreshed through the long term service award. In particular, the previous use of a commuter card has been replaced with the leaving work on the dot system (Family Day), a staggered commuting system, family friendly programs and Carers Leave. As the representative company of the cooperative workplace, the company collaborates with Bareun Childcare Center to f urther its ambition to establish a work life balance system tailored to job characteristics in the future, including the adoption of the flexible working system.

DongHwa Entec was first certified as a Family-friendly Company in 2011. After being revalidated in 2019, the company has been recognized as a Certified Exemplary Company striving to settle and spread the Work-Life Balance system. To bring its meticulous design of Work-Life system to life, it is making more efforts, including: winning the letter of appreciation for its cooperative workplace childcare center (Busan City) in Sept. 2017, being chosen as a “Best Work-Life Balance Company” in Dec. 2018 (Ministry of Employment and Labor), winning citations for meritorious service in childcare in 2020 (Ministry of Gender Equality and Family), and in the Work-Life Balance CEO category in 2022 (Busan City).
