On December 26, 2019, Donghwa Entec entered into a contract for 110,000 tons of HP&LP FGSS with NTS (New Times Shipbuilding).

NTS will build six 110,000-ton crude oil tankers (COT) for Eastern Pacific Shipping and decided to use a dual fuel body to meet the IMO emissions III requirements from the third ship.

The COT which is under contract at this time, is the first LFS (LNG fueled ship) designed and built by NTS, and is the ship which is creating new challenges for NTS.

Although in China the demand for LNG is rapidly increasing, as the LNG ship industry continuously improves, the LNG application is only in its initial stage for Chinese shipbuilders.

Therefore, Chinese shipbuilders prefer companies that can offer a systematic package service such as Donghwa Entec.

Donghwa Entec offers high efficiency and high quality with heat fluid-based technologies and skilled manufacturing technological capabilities to various customers as an energy system and heat exchanger company through R&D and mature energy use competence.

In 2009, we established Donghwa Entec (Shanghai), and developed the overseas export market, and we are directly exporting our products to shipbuilders.

Through this contract, we judge that our technological capabilities on LNG related system engineering accumulated in Korea has been proven in China as well.

For successful delivery of NTS GFSS PJT, we plan to continue to actively collaborate.

NTS CEO Liu said, “Although Donghwa Entec is a new company in FGSS, we internally selected the company with the belief that it will successfully carry out the project  responsibly, honestly, and with the technological advantage shown through transactions with us. I am convinced that a mutually beneficial business model will be achieved.”
